Likelihood of Success

Rick Moore:

[T]he election could be won or lost during the 90 minutes of the debate. If St. Paul Sarah shows up, it could be game changer. If Katie Couric Sarah shows up, goodbye battleground states.

And, as I said in Rick’s comments, the scary thing is the stark contrast, yeah? For Biden, it’s his last chance at any kind of glory. If he can make a woman who is young enough to be his daughter look dumb without saying something arrogant or looking like a bully, he just may cinch that big-time gig he’s always wanted.  For him that’s a tall order, but it is probably doable.  He certainly will get every benefit of the doubt from the MSM in spinning that he did.

For Palin, she may end her very fast decline and fall right here.  But more interestingly, to a large extent it’s in Sarah Palin’s hands to bring an end to Joe Biden’s long political career and great ambition… or to John McCain’s.

Thanks for the mention, Ron. Good post.

Oddly enough, it isn’t about Palin or Biden — it’s about McCain and Obama. That said, it’s not useful to ask who “won” the “debate.”

A more useful question would be “Which candidate was able to make undecided voters more likely to vote for the top of their ticket?”

If you know of anyone asking (and answering) that question, please let me know. It’s the only one that matters to me.

    You’re asking it.
And it seems about right to me.
But then again maybe the obverse is true too.

Most of the post-debate tracking polls are in now, and it’s clear that McCain-Palin are continuing their slow but steady slide into oblivion.

  5. Hey Ara, remember when you said this:

“All they have to do is point out that she wasn’t properly vetted (for example, evidence of which is the lack of questioning of the principals in the Troopergate scandal and the growing doubts that Sarah Palin is the real mother of Trig Palin).”

    That was awesome.

    Yours truly,

    The Ghost of Christmas past.
