Why ever pay more than $12 for a haircut?

    I came across a place called the “Grooming Lounge” in DC the other day. A haircut there costs far more than $12, although it does include a warm towel. That price increases if you go for the manicure, pedicure, shave, and spa treatments.

    From what I understand, going to a spa for a manicure and pedicure puts your manhood in question. However, if you get your mani and pedi while sitting in a dark leather chair while a nearby flat-screen TV plays sports programming, it’s macho.

    In my case, I pay more than twelve bucks because my barber’s standard rate is $13, and I pay him an extra two dollars for a tip.
