You’re so clubbable

ROD DREHER ON MIKE HUCKABEE:

[I]t’s hard to shake the belief that the real problem with Mike Huckabee, as far as the establishment is concerned, is that he’s not clubbable.

I’d say just the opposite. I think that Huckabee has gotten a lot of mileage out of being a likable guy.

Whoa, Glenn!   “Likable” and “clubbable” only intersect a little, tiny bit.  Lots of regular, likable, fun guys are not and never will be clubbable.

Don’t run to the dictionaries that say “sociable, gregarious.”  Clubbable really means socially acceptable; amenable to homogenization.

Big difference, believe me.

    “amenable to homogenization.”

That’s my problem with him, he’s homogenized.

  4. Who is, Jack?

    “Who is Jack?”

You know, a lot of people ask me that Ron.
But I signed a contract and so I’m not allowed to say.
