Not supposed to happen

Posted by Ron Coleman on May 17, 2007

Yikes!

A 15-foot pipe fell off a skyscraper being dismantled near the World Trade Center site and plunged through the roof of a nearby firehouse Thursday, injuring two firefighters, officials said.

That is not supposed to happen!  Walking around New York City, there is construction and demolition going on everywhere, all the time.  We walk under gigantic pieces of airborne building materials, members, massive appliances suspended from cranes all day long.

Now you’re going to tell me, “Whoops”?

This sort of undermines an urban compact.  No excuse!
